As the global communications manager for IMC, I had the honour of heading up and crafting all content pieces for the company’s most significant charity event of the year—Trading and Gaming for Charity. This epic event is when a full day’s trading profit is donated to Room to Read—a non-profit organisation committed to funding schools in disadvantaged communities. Partnering with world renowned eSports team—Team Liquid—we also hosted multiple live donation streams across 24-hours with some of the biggest names in gaming. This project required flawless global alignment of our key IMC offices including Sydney, Amsterdam, and Chicago with a full blitz campaign starting internally and breaking out to cover web, social, PR, as well as affiliate and ambassador channels. A global communications toolkit was also developed to cover all bases for events going forward. The result? We donated over $5.4 million USD to schools in Tanzania and South Africa, making it our most successful event yet.
